Preschool
Program
Our
Preschool classrooms are spacious with large windows
overlooking Garrison Park. Individual coat-hooks, cubbies
and parent mailboxes keep the room organized and make
drop-off and pick-up easier for our families. Each classroom
has its own bathroom, equipped with step-up platforms
making the sink and toilets easily accessible to all
the children.
Classroom
schedules include both indoor and outdoor times, theme
oriented calendars of activities (click here for sample calendar), story time and music appreciation.
Creative expression is encouraged through the use of paints,
blocks, sand, water, play dough and cooking projects.
Our
preschool classrooms are each equipped with two state
of the art personal computers and Internet access so
that the children are able to learn basic computer skills
and take advantage of the latest educational software
and age appropriate games.
  
After
School Program
Before
and After Kindergarten care is also provided for children
enrolled in the local school district kindergartens with
additional care available for snow days, vacation weeks
and early dismissal days. Children from the Beaver Meadow
School District are bussed directly to First Start.
Our
first through fifth grade after-school program offers
activities, computer games, projects and outdoor fun
at Garrison Park. Afternoon snack is provided and kids
are encouraged to relax and spend time with their friends.
All day care is also available during school week vacations,
snow days and early release days.
