student interested in enrolling in a program of the Alternative
High School completes an application and has an interview.
Parents and school personnel are encouraged to attend the
interview. The potential student is then asked to return to
visit. Following the interview, visit, and informal testing,
if agreed that Second Start is an appropriate placement, the
student is placed in the program, subject to the school district
approval.
Contractual
agreements for costs are made with the local school districts
for both special education and non-handicapped students. Information
regarding costs for the Alternative High School Program is
available from the Director. Transportation within the Concord
area is also available.
